Participation in European Code Week Activities

Our school recently took part in the 2023 European Code Week activities, organized by our Construction Technologies teacher, Sevgi Bayram. This event was held as part of our KA210-VET "Green Transformation" Erasmus+ project, which is being implemented by students from both the Construction Technologies and Electrical and Electronics Technology departments.

Under the coordination of the Batman Provincial MEM R&D, our students joined the activities with the code name "Batman100." The focus of our participation was on "environment and climate change," and we utilized web 0.2 tools, conducted carbon footprint calculations, and engaged in a study called "Green Steps to 0CO² Footprint."

Importance of Environmental Awareness

Participating in these activities allowed our students to gain a deeper understanding of the importance of environmental awareness and the role that technology can play in addressing climate change. By utilizing web 0.2 tools, they were able to explore innovative ways to tackle environmental issues and promote sustainability.

One of the key activities during the European Code Week was the carbon footprint calculation study. This involved measuring the amount of greenhouse gas emissions produced by various activities, such as transportation, energy consumption, and waste management. By understanding their own carbon footprint, students were able to identify areas where they could make changes to reduce their impact on the environment.

Green Steps to 0CO² Footprint

The "Green Steps to 0CO² Footprint" study was another important part of our participation. This study focused on identifying practical steps that individuals and communities can take to reduce their carbon footprint. Students explored different strategies, such as energy conservation, waste reduction, and sustainable transportation, to develop a comprehensive action plan.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all the students and teachers who have participated in these activities, both in the past and present. Their dedication and commitment to environmental sustainability are truly commendable. Through their efforts, we are confident that we can make a positive impact on our local community and contribute to the global fight against climate change.
